Lauren Brown <\/b>
\n<\/span>Lauren is a junior at Virginia Tech, majoring in Civil Engineering with a minor in Spanish. A meaningful moment for Lauren was the first in-person joint meeting with Radford University where the students had the opportunity to practice and create in the Alexander Black House.<\/span>

\"Reghan<\/p>\n

Reghan Cutler
\n<\/b>Reghan is a junior Theatre major at Radford University where she was recently seen in <\/span>Alice @ Wonderland<\/span><\/i> as the Queen of Hearts. The most impactful part of the project for Reghan was learning that many of the women who dedicated their lives to the suffrage movement, died before they were ever able to vote.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n<\/b>Lilly is a junior majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) with a minor in Theatre at Virginia Tech. Her favorite part of this project was the opportunity to focus on two women who drove this movement forward and then delving into the extraordinary things they did.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n<\/b>Joshua has just graduated from Radford University with a major in Theatre, where he appeared as Malcolm in <\/span>Macbeth<\/span><\/i>, Mois\u00e9s Kaufman in<\/span> The Laramie Project<\/span><\/i>, and as Ed Stone in <\/span>Darkside<\/span><\/i>. One thing that means a lot to Joshua about this project is the fact that we are so open to new knowledge of the past, no matter what baggage comes along with it.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Devin Glasier
\n<\/b>Devin has just graduated from Radford University with a major in Theatre, and a focus in Performance. She has been involved in several productions at Radford University including<\/span> Wonder of the World <\/span><\/i>and<\/span> Rapture, Blister, Burn. <\/span><\/i>Working with her colleagues on such a meaningful project has been an honor and she is so grateful to share the stories of these fierce women with all of you!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Timothy Glover<\/b>
\n<\/span>Timothy has just graduated from Radford University with a major in Theatre.\u00a0 His credits include the role of Doctor in <\/span>Macbeth<\/span><\/i>, Giant\/Sun\/Mechant in the Porterfield Ensemble production of <\/span>We Are From Her <\/span><\/i>and Officer Barrel in <\/span>Urinetown: The Musical<\/span><\/i>. He is excited for this project because he loves history and believes this is an important story to tell.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kathryn Grimes
\n<\/b>Kathyrn is a junior at Radford University. Some of her credits include Lois in <\/span>Wonder of the World<\/span><\/i>, and Penelope Pennywise in<\/span> Urinetown: the Musical<\/span><\/i>. One of her favorite moments from this project was an encounter with props where we explored items from the past.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Rachel Groover<\/b>
\n<\/span>Rachel has just graduated from Radford University with a degree in Theatre. Her other credits at Radford University include Ensemble\/Postcard Girl in <\/span>Oklahoma!<\/span><\/i> and Witch 2 in <\/span>Macbeth<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0 She is thankful to have been given the opportunity to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment in the most passionate way she can.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/b>Molly is a faculty member in the Department of Theatre and Cinema at Radford University. She loves everything Shakespeare, and is delighted that a road trip with Amanda Nelson of Virginia Tech to see one of Shakespeare\u2019s plays was where the idea for\u00a0 \u201cPerforming History: Women and the Vote\u201d was born. She is thrilled to have shared the journey with so many amazing students.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Molly Jackman
\n<\/b>Molly is a sophomore theatre major at Radford University, and is from Norfolk, Virginia. Some of her favorite credits include Henrietta Leavitt in a staged reading of <\/span>Silent Sky<\/span><\/i>, and Thea in <\/span>5 Doors & A Lamp<\/span><\/i> in Radford University\u2019s 10 Minute Play Festival. She is so excited to be working with this amazing group and helping to bring Alice Paul and the other suffragists to life!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Some of Tori\u2019s favorite credits at Radford include: <\/span>Crimes of the Heart, Mauritius, <\/span><\/i>and<\/span> Next Fall.<\/span><\/i> Her most memorable moment from the project was reading the actual letters from the women involved in the suffrage movement. The virtual fashion exhibit we had the opportunity to explore continues to resonate with her\u00a0 because it deepened her appreciation for the women and connected her to the era.<\/span>

<\/b>Amanda is a faculty member in the School of Performing Arts at Virginia Tech. She is thrilled to have had the opportunity to develop the pilot project \u201cPerforming History: Women and the Vote\u201d in partnership with Molly Hood of Radford University and looks forward to future collaborations. Amanda dedicates this project to her mother, Bonnie A. Nelson, who was a fierce advocate for women\u2019s rights.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n<\/span>Liv is a junior at Virginia Tech seeking dual degrees in American History and Theatre. She usually works with costumes and is grateful for the opportunity to perform. Liv has enjoyed this project for its melding of American History and theatrical exercise, most particularly the prop encounter exercises, which expanded her understanding of character creation within devised theatre.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As his day usually consists of publication design, direct mail, and updating websites, he is thrilled to have worked on something so out of the ordinary and creative.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n<\/em>Jimmy is an Associate Professor of Theatre Design in the Department of Theatre and Cinema at Radford University. His credits as a set, lighting and costume designer include work at Spoleto Festival USA, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and Gainesville Theatre Alliance. Locally, Jimmy has worked as resident designer for the last 18 seasons at Mill Mountain Theatre.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>
